I liked it when Hatties mitten gets stuck on the well handle. Then Chase saves her. I thought that was very funny.

Hattie Big Sky is a very well written book. It is a story about a 16 year old girl leaving her comforted life to go and prove up her late uncle's homestead claim. I really enjoyed the courage that Hattie had to go and live on her own and prove up a claim. I enjoyed the relationships that she formed and the way she carried herself throughout this entire book. I loved the way that Hattie didn't really like younger kids in the beginning of this book, but towards the end she loves her neighbors kids like they are her own family. If you haven't read this book already drop what you are doing and pick it up because this is a great book, worth your while.

"Hattie Big Sky" is a book that left me asking for more. i loved the fact that this historical fiction is not just totally boring, but totally entertaining! hattie earned a love for the montana sky's and smells of home. hoping never to leave, Hattie faces the many challenges of being a homesteader. this book is definitely on the book list.
